Quick Introduction
Well friends, here I am blogging. Something else to add to my day, but I’m looking forward to showing you what’s coming from the lab. Hopefully this will be a win-win for us all. For me it means I need to get something done to show you on a regular basis and for you… well hopefully you’ll like what you see.
Okay, so for anyone who has just stumbled across this lovely blog let me tell you a bit about who I am and what I do. The name of my jewelry design company is Ansley Parker. I answer to Ansley even though it’s not my given name, lol. No need in confusing everyone so when u see someone refer to me as something other than Ansley, this is why. LOL. People seem to like the name and for those of you who know, my design partner & I, like to stay in the shadows.
Alright, so Ansley Parker is a new name, but I’ve been making jewelry as darbi larkins for almost half a decade now (wow, time flies!). At the time we started darbi, I had a full time job and really only made work at random intervals. For some reason people loved it and before I knew it people were asking to carry my work and selling it! This still blows my mind, but why fight the tide. At present I’m working at making this a full time enterprise, while learning new/different techniques to add to the body of my work. Currently most of my work involves beading/stringing, using natural stones, silver and some pearls. I’m learning to smith, which I’m loving so you’ll see some of those items mixed in as well. I have a line of rings I’m working on that I can’t wait to show you. ^.^ They’re being cast using the lost wax method. It’s challenging at moments but fun.
My design and business partner is my husband, who is an amazing visual artist (painter) and art educator. More than anything he’s the one prodding me slowly forward into the great abyss. He’ll design a piece of jewelry here and there, but most of his energy is directed at blank canvas. When he does create something I’ll be sure to share that w/you as well. Our styles are a bit different, but he also has a this mastery of color use that makes his work interesting.
Okay so enuff chatting for now, you wanna see the work right?! As the tail moves, just click the image to enlarge! It’s cute but not easy to see, I guess. You’ll soon it’s all about aesthetics for me. :p

Thanks Hatts. The bestest friend a girl could ever have. *heart* OK, this motivation to get the step-by-step up of the ring making process. I hope they come out like I’ve envisioned.
